Terms of Service

Last updated: July 1, 2026

These Terms of Use govern your use of Sakaba. They're written to reflect what the app actually does — not a generic template. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which explains what data the app touches.

1. Acceptance of These Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Sakaba, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

2. What Sakaba Is

Sakaba is a home-bar app for iPhone and iPad — a curated library of classic cocktail recipes, a step-by-step guided-mixing mode, and a personal tasting journal. It's built and operated by an independent developer, not a company.

3. Eligibility and Responsible Drinking

Sakaba's recipe library references alcoholic beverages and is intended for adults of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction. By using the app, you confirm you meet that requirement. Nothing in Sakaba is medical, legal, or safety advice — drink responsibly, know your limits, and never drink and drive. If you don't drink alcohol, Sakaba's non-alcoholic recipes and browsing features remain fully available to you.

4. No Account — Your Content Stays Yours

Sakaba has no sign-up or account system. Recipes, tasting notes, and photos you create are stored on your device and, if enabled, synced through your own private iCloud account — see our Privacy Policy for details. You own the content you create; we don't claim any rights to your tasting notes or photos beyond what's needed to display them back to you in the app.

5. Sakaba Plus — Subscriptions and Purchases

100 classic recipes are free. Sakaba Plus unlocks the full library of 579 recipes and additional features, offered as:
• Sakaba Plus Monthly — $1.99, billed monthly
• Sakaba Plus Annual — $14.99, billed yearly, with a 3-day free trial for new subscribers
• Sakaba Plus Lifetime — $39.99, a one-time payment with no recurring charge
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Monthly and Annual subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to that. You can manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your device's Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited if you purchase Sakaba Plus Lifetime during that trial. All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store — we never see or store your payment details, and refunds are handled by Apple under its own policies, not by us.

6. Intellectual Property

The Sakaba app — its design, code, curated recipe descriptions, illustrations, and the Sakaba name and logo — is proprietary and protected by copyright and trademark law. Classic cocktail recipes themselves are part of the shared bartending tradition and aren't owned by anyone; what's proprietary is our specific text, presentation, and curation of them. You may use the app for personal, non-commercial purposes; you may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute the app or its content.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Sakaba to violate any law, to reverse-engineer or decompile the app, to interfere with its normal operation, or to use automated tools to scrape or extract its content.

8. No Professional Advice

Sakaba's recipes, flavor guidance, and other content are for informational and entertainment purposes only. They aren't medical, dietary, legal, or safety advice. If you have allergies, health conditions, or concerns about alcohol consumption, consult a qualified professional.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Sakaba is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't guarantee the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any recipe will suit your taste. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app — that responsibility is ours alone.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sakaba's developer isn't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app — including anything related to alcoholic beverages you choose to make and consume based on its content. You're responsible for drinking responsibly and legally.

11. Terms Required by Apple

Because Sakaba is distributed through the Apple App Store, the following terms apply in addition to everything above:
• This agreement is between you and the developer of Sakaba only, not Apple — Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the app.
• If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any — to the maximum extent permitted by law, that's Apple's sole warranty obligation, and any other claims, losses, or damages are our responsibility, not Apple's.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, legal or regulatory compliance claims, and claims under consumer protection or similar legislation.
• We, not Apple, are responsible for the investigation, defense, and resolution of any claim that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
• You represent that you're not located in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo, and that you're not on any U.S. government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

12. Termination

You can stop using Sakaba at any time by deleting the app. We may discontinue or modify the app at our discretion; if that ever affects a paid subscription, applicable Apple refund policies apply where required.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, note it in the app.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where local consumer-protection law gives you additional rights that can't be waived.
